At the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC), we continually strive to enhance your learning experience by leveraging the latest technology. Our commitment to providing a seamless and reliable learning environment has led to the launch of two cutting-edge Learning Management System (LMS) platforms: eLearn and eSpace.
A Brief History
In the past, USC’s LMS, known as eLearn, was hosted on a local server. While it served its purpose, frequent power surges caused significant downtime, resulting in the loss of many important files and a disrupted learning experience. Recognizing the need for a more reliable solution, we transitioned to a cloud-based server. This move has dramatically improved our system’s reliability, with little to no downtime, ensuring that your educational resources are always accessible.
Introducing eLearn and eSpace
To better cater to the diverse needs of our student body, we have now separated our LMS into two distinct platforms:
1. eLearn eLearn is designed for students enrolled in fully online tertiary programs. This platform provides a robust and flexible online learning environment, enabling you to access course materials, participate in discussions, submit assignments, and receive feedback from anywhere in the world. Powered by the latest version of Moodle as of July 2024, eLearn offers an intuitive user interface, advanced collaboration tools, and a suite of features tailored to support online education.
2. eSpace eSpace is dedicated to students in fully face-to-face and blended programs. Whether you attend classes on campus or engage in a mix of in-person and online learning, eSpace integrates seamlessly with your educational routine. It facilitates easy access to course content, supports interactive learning activities, and ensures continuous communication with your instructors and peers. Like eLearn, eSpace is powered by the most recent version of Moodle, guaranteeing a modern and efficient learning experience.
